These are compiled binaries for a 64 bit system. They are static compiles and benefit from having gnuplot available for full functionality. In Linux: The install directory will be: /usr/local If you are root and unzip in / directory, it will put everything in /usr/local usr └── local ├── bin ├── include ├── lib └── share ├── doc │   └── bsu ├── man │   ├── man1 │   ├── man3 │   ├── man5 │   └── man7 ├── octave │   └── site-m └── scripts On the otherhand, if you are worried, just find some place safe to unzip, and then manually move stuff where you want it.
