NAME

bdum - BSU program generates zero traces with an impulse at user specified time

SYNOPSIS

bdum [ -h | infile | time_impulse ]

DESCRIPTION

Basic Seismic Utilities (BSU) takes header and trace parameters (like number of samples, sample interval, etc.) and creates a new data set with zeroed traces. An impulse is then placed at a user specified time in (same for all traces). One use would be to capture the impulse response of a program like bfil.

Options

-h

Online help giving details on command line arguments

infile

Input file name

time_impulse

The time to place an impulse at in an otherwise zero trace.

NOTE:
If invoked with no options, will prompt user for input parameters.

EXAMPLE:
bdum wave.seg 0.1

File wave.seg is used to design a new file with impulse functions at time, 0.1 seconds. The new file will have headers, number of traces, number of samples, and sample interval matching the design file, wave.seg.

FILES

bdumxxxx.seg

Output, new data set. Named according to convention (first 4char bdum, the next 4char are the first 4char of the input file name, suffix .seg)

produces a progress bar

bdumxxxx.lst
