egg2seg - BSU program converts EGG Geometrics files (SEG-2) to BSEGY (*.seg) format
egg2seg [ -h | infile ]
Basic Seismic Utilities (BSU) reads the File Descriptor Block (FDB), Trace Descriptor Blocks (TDB), and data of SEG-2 format data as produced on EGG Geometrics Engineering Seismographs. The output is in BSU’s BSEGY format (*.seg files). This program is intended for a quick conversion of the data, and does not set geometry (coordinates are zeroed out). However, time of day, sample rate, number of samples, and other key header values are extracted from the SEG-2 files and included in the BSEGY output. EXAMPLE:
egg2seg 1003.dat
File 1003.dat is converted to 1003.seg.

no known bugs, but was designed primarily for EGG’s seismograph. Your mileage may vary with other seismographs. This is not a general SEG-2 conversion program. See Seismic Unix for that sort of thing.
