bmix - BSU program MEAN mixes seismic data across the trace direction

SYNOPSIS

bmix [ -h | infile | mix ]

DESCRIPTION

Basic Seismic Utilities (BSU) mixes traces using the add and subtract trick for a box car operator. Double precision arithmatic is used for the accumulator. This program was designed for wavefield separation on time aligned data, so it does not taper in/out at the edges of the data set. Rather, it replicates mix/2 traces from the midpoint out to the end of the data. This is a MEAN mix, NOT a MEDIAN mix. For a median mix, use bmed.

infile

Input file name

mix

The width of the box car mix operator (must be odd, and software makes sure it is).

NOTE:
If invoked with no options, will prompt user for input parameters.

EXAMPLE:
bmix bshfwave.seg 11

File bshfwave.seg is mixed with an 11 trace spatial mix operator.

FILES

bmixyyyy.seg

Output, mean mix data set. Named according to convention (first 4char bmix, the next 4char are the first 4char of the input file name, suffix .seg)

produces a progress bar

bmixyyyy.lst

echo check of input parameters
